We want our museum to be a welcoming place, so we try to make access to the museum and exhibitions barrier-free for everyone.
Barrier-free access to the museum is possible via the main entrance. All rooms and floors inside the museum are accessible by lift. There is a tactile floor plan by the cash desk to give you an overview of the layout of the building.
There is no guidance system for visually impaired people in the museum. We therefore recommend visiting the museum with an accompanying person.
There are disabled parking spaces in the underground carpark on Petrusplatz and free parking is possible at the St Johann Baptist church /Johannesplatz in Neu-Ulm.
We keep a walking frame, wheelchair and portable seating ready for our visitors.
Accessible facilities available in the restroom in the basement, as well as cloakrooms and lockers.
Assistance and guide dogs with a valid ID card are welcome in the museum.
We offer our audio guides in German, English and simplified language and with audio descriptions for visually impaired people.
We are also currently working on an educational programme that comprises guided tours in simplified language with detailed descriptions of the works and a speech-to-text interpreter. These tours are specially marked in our programme.
We can also provide tours in German sign language on request and subject to prior arrangement.
Our website also has content in simplified German.
We always welcome your tips and suggestions. Please contact us via our email address: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Some of our public tours of the special exhibitions are accompanied by a speech-to-text interpreter, who simultaneously types the words of the guide for hearing-impaired people.
The speech-to-text interpreter gives hearing-impaired people the assurance of having correctly understood everything that has been said. It makes it easier to actively take part in the tour, ask questions and express opinions.
Guided tours accompanied by a speech-to-text interpreter are clearly indicated in our press announcements and programme of events on our homepage.
Apart from the entrance fee, there are no additional charges. No prior registration is required.
